Ron is the Founder and President of Pray America, which began when he went with a friend to work on relief in El Salvador following the 1987 earthquake. That began the burden for the people of Central America that the Lord placed on his heart.

Ron's relationships in El Salvador connected him with people in Guatemala who were developing an orphanage that consisted of a few run-down mobile homes on a hillside. Ron began seeking funding and teams to rebuild the facilities of what is now Casa Bernabe, a 150 child facility just outside of Guatemala City, with comfortable and safe housing, water, food and a school.

During the time the orphanage was being rebuilt, hurricane Hugo devastated north central Guatemala, leaving thousands of native Indian Guatemalans in a desperate situation. Through relationship with local pastors and ministries in these rural areas Pray America got involved in relief efforts to provide food and care for those who were in need. This connection with the Mayan culture of Guatemala revealed the need for a longer-term more permanent presence to provide physical and spiritual care.
